Yes I can almost feel your frustration. You are past the stage of feeling like a beached whale where no matter how you lie down it is almost uncomfortable to do so. You have tried those fancy pillows, your partner has had enough of back rubbing and you feel like this pregnancy is never going to end. Gone out the window are those thoughts you had when you first became pregnant of how wonderful a having baby is going to be.
Even though you told you doctor a couple of days ago that you are now overdue and felt that this baby was never going to come, he suggested to leave it another week and let nature take its course. Though you are feeling like you just want the birth over sooner rather than later you know he is right. Several friends have told you about their bad experiences of being medically induced in hospital and you certainly do not want to have a similar experience. They have told you about the intense pain and almost impossible task of delivering a baby with an epidural which dulls the pain but also inhibits a mothers ability to push the baby through the birth canal.
